UMYU Announces Second Post-UTME Test, Introduces 15 New Academic Programmes
Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, has announced the commencement of registration for its second Post-UTME aptitude test scheduled to hold on Saturday, 18th October 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Muhammad Yusufu Abubakar, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 15 new academic programmes for the institution.
The newly introduced programmes include:
Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT), B.NSc. Nursing Science, B.Medical Laboratory Science, B.Sc. Medical Physics, B.Sc. Plant Science and Biotechnology, B.Sc. Animal and Environmental Biology, B.Sc. Physics with Electronics, B.Sc. Applied Geophysics, B.Sc. Information System, B.Sc. Software Engineering, B.Ed. Educational Management, B.Ed. Guidance and Counseling, B.A. Arabic Literary Studies and Translation, and B.Sc. Food Science and Technology.
The university stated that candidates who wish to study any of the listed programmes, or those who missed the first Post-UTME aptitude test, are eligible to apply. However, the test excludes applicants for Agriculture, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Education & Computer Science, Environmental Management, International Relations, Law, Library and Information Science, Medicine & Surgery, and Microbiology.
Registration for the test begins on Saturday, 11th October 2025, and closes on Friday, 17th October 2025. Interested candidates must have selected UMYU as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attained the minimum cut-off marks for their chosen programmes.
Applicants are required to visit the university’s website — www.umyu.edu.ng — to register and access details on cut-off marks and admission requirements.
Candidates are to upload the following documents during registration:
2025 JAMB Result Slip,
O’ Level Result(s),
Valid means of identification (such as National ID, Indigene Letter, or International Passport).
Those awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
The registration fee for the aptitude test is ₦2,000 (inclusive of all charges), payable through the online payment options provided on the university’s website.
The university advised all candidates to monitor its website regularly for updates and added that applicants with special needs identified by JAMB are exempted from the test but should forward hard copies of their credentials to the Office of the Registrar.
